Medical Beds Case Study – Atlas Clinical
This Medical Beds Case Study is about Atlas Clinical, who are based in Lichfield and manufacture chiropractic beds. Atlas is now back to full strength following a call to MAS-WM (Manufacturing Advisory Service – West Midlands). The company had received a letter from the Medicines and Healthcare Regulations Agency (MHRA) requesting that their beds be EMC tested in accordance to their guidelines. After contacting MAS-WM and talking to specialist advisors Peter Roach and Iain Robertson, they bought help further expert help from associates at CE Marking Association.
In a fully funded five day project the CE Marking Association carried out the required Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing and also advised Atlas Clinical on future designs and rectification. This intervention satisfied the MHRA request and has helped the company to move forward and design a more robust product.
Managing Director David Antrobus enthused: “We are extremely pleased with what has been accomplished. The MAS-WM intervention has helped us overcome a huge hurdle.” MAS-WM also introduced Atlas Clinical to Health Tech. They support SMEs in the West Midlands with healthcare technology issues and in this instance helped the company to put in place the necessary quality standards required by the Medical Devices Directive.
